  12. Well, here we go again!  This month, included with the newsletter is the 
  13. Field Investigator's Examination.  Everyone is considered a "trainee" until 
  14. the test is taken and a passing grade is obtained, regardless of the position 
  15. you hold in MUFON.  If you have not taken it yet, don't feel alone.  Quite a 
  16. few of us (including me) have not taken it. I just finished mine and sent it 
  17. out to be graded.  Hopefully, I'll pass, and GOOD LUCK to each of you!

  21.           "SCI-FI CLIP WARNS YOUTHS TO WAIT FOR CLOSE ENCOUNTERS"

  23. TALLAHASSEE-(AP) - Coming soon to a theatre near you: a dazzling, space-age 
  24. warning about the dangers of teenage sex, starring aliens who promote abstin-
  25. ence as the best form of birth control.
  26.      The two-minute public service announcement is scheduled to debut this 
  27. fall on about 800 movie screens throughout Florida at a cost of $50,000.  
  28. It's sponsor, the State Department of Health and Rehabilitative Services, is 
  29. negotiating with theater owners to run the spot during movie previews.  "It's 
  30. probably the only science-fiction, teen-age pregnancy film that exists," said 
  31. Tom Lenard, head producer-director for Auburn University's telecommunications 
  32. department and creator of the film.

  37.                  "BIG 'FIREBALL' BLAZES ACROSS MEMPHIS SKY"

  39. MEMPHIS-  A bright object blazed across the sky about 7:45 Friday night, as 
  40. reported by a number of people.  One witness was out in his yard when he 
  41. spotted the "fireball red" object.  Another witness was driving on Interstate 
  42. 40 when he spotted the object.  The witness said it seemed to flicker and 
  43. change from green to orange.  "It changed colors several times coming down", 
  44. he stated.  Reports conflicted as to whether the object burned out before it 
  45. hit the ground and varied as to its flight path.  Major Dick Adam, spokesman 
  46. for the U.S. Space Command near Colorado Springs, said experts couldn't find
  47. anything to indicate a manmade object fell from space.

  53. I hope everyone caught the T.V. show, "UNSOLVED MYSTERIES" this month.  As 
  54. the premier show of the season, a segment covering the "Roswell Incident" was 
  55. shown.  This one segment accounted for more than half of the hour long show.  
  56. The program stuck pretty close to actual reported happenings as contained in 
  57. the book "The Roswell Incident" (Berkley Books, New York), authored by 
  58. Charles Berlitz and William (Bill) L. Moore (of 1989 International UFO Symp-
  59. osium fame, if you haven't heard what happened, let me know, and I'll clue 
  60. you in).  This famous crash in 1947 became the base of the now infamous MJ-12 
  61. group (Majestic).

  63. HOLLYWOOD-  Hollywood New Line Cinema has set an October 20 domestic release 
  64. date for "COMMUNION", the film based on Whitley Strieber's alien encounters.
  65. The picture, which relates Strieber's contacts with aliens in 1985 and 1986, 
  66. stars Christopher Walken as Strieber and Lindsay Crouse as his wife, Anne.

  71. Six times this year, an unannounced asteroid made a pass at the planet Earth.
  72. On August 24th, Asteroid 1989PB approached to within 2.5 million miles of 
  73. Earth traveling at between 20,000 to 40,000 miles per hour.  The mile wide 
  74. chunk of rock was discovered coming this way on August 9th during film 
  75. studies taken that day at Palomar Observatory in San Diego.  It was the sixth 
  76. one to intrude into the Earth's back yard this year.  In March, Asteroid 
  77. 1989FC traveled to within 460,000 miles of the Earth.  This was stated to 
  78. have been the closest asteroid pass in the records of astronomy.  It is 
  79. remarkable that a sequential series of historic astronomical events of this 
  80. kind was so sparsely reported by the news media.  This is especially note-
  81. worthy in view of the tremendous interest in and coverage of the Voyager fly-
  82. by of planet Neptune.

  88. Whiltey Strieber, of "COMMUNION" and "TRANSFORMATION" fame, has a new book 
  89. out titled "MAJESTIC".  It is written in a fiction format, rather than as a 
  90. documentary.  The reason for this is explained in the Introduction to the 
  91. book.  The book does contain factual information, but because of many various 
  92. reasons, his attorney advised him to put it in a fictional light.  It is good 
  93. reading, and has a strong reference to the MJ-12 scenario.

  99. Not much has transpired thruout the
  100. state this month.  A case mentioned
  101. in the August, 1989 issue of
  102. "THE TENNESSEE NEWSLETTER", case
  103. number # 030189TN, is still on-going.
  104. I've received a video of past talks
  105. and discussions with the witness, and
  106. have an audio tape of his sessions with
  107. a hypnotist.  He is presently undergoing
  108. hypnotic sessions weekly in efforts to
  109. uncover exactly what happened during
  110. his visits and abductions.  More infor-
  111. mation will be available as the case
  112. progresses.
